Born on February 9, 1996 in Albany, Georgia, Randy Bernard Wright Jr. has been through many layers of life in which have contributed to his musical career. Wright, more commonly known as “SelfMade SILU” grew up in a musical family. Growing up, it was not uncommon for SILU to join in impromptu singing freestyles with his relatives. This music-based foundation he grew up in laid the foundation for him to create his own songs.
SILU began his music career with one of his relatives, Roderick Gervin. SILU found Gervin was already working on some music with his best friend Juno Carter. Along with Gervin and Carter, they formed the group “Top Fl1ght Music Group.’. In 2012, they had their first performance which was an event hosted by DJ Cap and DJ CGutta in Georgia while performing in local nightclubs.
Following the disbanding of ‘Top Fl1ght Music Group’ in 2014, SILU joined the United States Military. Using his experiences in the military, SILU gained the confidence to venture into the music industry on his own. In 2019, SILU released his debut single entitled “Mixed in My Thoughts”. SILU cites Derez De’Shon, Lil Wayne and Gucci Mane as his primary influences.
